Why We Report Quality Data

We report quality data because we want you to know that we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our patients and are continuously evaluating ways to improve quality of care. We want you to be able to make informed choices about who provides your cancer care.

Our goals are to:

  • Provide high quality multidisciplinary initial cancer evaluation

  • Deliver efficient clinical care and increase patient satisfaction

  • Provide opportunities for research

  • Provide high quality treatment

Reporting patient outcomes regularly demonstrates improvement from year to year. This data is proof to our patients that The Lacks Cancer Center is constantly striving to provide the best quality cancer care.

Here are some examples from our most recent quality data:

  • Timely Evaluations: 91% of eligible referrals were seen in our Gastrointestinal Cancer Multidisciplinary Program (GI MDC) within 10 days of referral and on average, patients were seen on average within 6.85 days of referral.

  • Start of Treatment: The average number of days from referral to the start of treatment for our GI MDC patients decreased from 22.45 days in 2010 to 15.21 days in 2011.
