Eric Kirk

Eric Kirk had bariatric surgery on September 17, 2009. He weighed 432 pounds when he decided it was time to make a change. Today, he has lost more than 200 pounds, has proudly completed a half marathon and is now working towards his next goal of a full marathon. Eric shares in his own words the difference that having bariatric surgery has made in his life.
"I started this wonderful journey on July 19, 2009. I was ready for a change. I felt awful. I talked to Dr. Kemmeter at a wedding. He said come in and check things out. I am so glad I did.
Dr. Kemmeter helped me choose the surgery I needed. The gastric sleeve was my choice. I also started the exercise I needed. I went with running. I have now run several races including a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon. In the photo above, I am the one in the green shirt at the Grand Rapids Marathon. My goal is now a full marathon.
With the help of Dr. Kemmeter, I am now on my way to a healthier life. I started this journey in July of 2009 at 432 pounds. By November 2010, I weighed 208 pounds. Dr. Kemmeter puts you first and treats you like family."
